Just days after President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated, Lee Harvey Oswald was apprehended for the crime. As Oswald was being moved from the Dallas police station, Jack Ruby, (full name: Jacob Leon Rubenstein) shot him on live television. Oswald was rushed to Parkland Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Ruby later stood trial before a Dallas jury for Oswald's murder and was sentenced to death. Ruby's conviction was later appealed and he was to be granted a new trial. However, he became ill in prison and died from lung cancer on January 3rd, 1967.
